Dear friends, today I’m tucking in folders and the wonderful memories from our last time in Paris. For some reason, I kept postponing this post as if in a way it would mean letting go. It happens really when you meet people who warm up your heart and have an amazing time with. I’ve made a promise to myself, next time I visit Paris must be either spring or late summer. It had been biting cold that weekend, looking at the pictures I feel the cold in my bones. However, the cold wouldn’t stop us from taking every little opportunity between each camera click to talk and catch up. Do you know the feeling when you meet a person and you need (must) tell the story of your life in record time? Where you come from, really where you COME FROM and what made you Who you are. You lay down the facts, no explanations needed, that person won’t judge, your instincts speak to you.
It doesn’t happen to me quite often, wisdom obtained through aging safeguards me from opening up to new people. I normally would take my sweet time, a day at a time. My mode of action is creating common experiences and opening up bits by bits. I’ve learned through tough experience, showing your vulnerability to certain people is as if placing a dynamite in the wrong hands. I’ve happily said goodbye to such characters and open my heart to new people. My mother tells me (has always told me) follow your instincts; instincts never fail you.
Posts like this remind me why I love blogging so much, writing down those words feels liberating and amazingly good. My beautiful Stella and I gave a promise to meet up soon…
