As much as I love trying new makeup trends, (said the girl who perfected the Chanel 2016 quilted eye makeup) if you’ve been with me for awhile you’ve realized my makeup style is pretty stable. Rarely do I venture out of my comfort zone- The reason is straightforward; after seeing my face in countless pictures I know better what my shape and natural color palette. If you’ve yet to discover your signature makeup style, follow three simple rules to discover what’s best for you.
Draw your comfort zone.
I noticed a girl on a bike at 7.30am wearing a red lipstick and it was the prettiest sight I saw all day. The term ‘too much makeup’, doesn’t exist in my terminology. Find what makes you feel wonderful and special. If a red lipstick or a dramatic eyeliner makes you feel comfortable, then by any means you should go for it.
Decide on the features you’d want to enhance.
Whether you love your eye color or shape, luscious lips or high cheekbones, perfecting makeup application in the particular areas, should jump up on your priority list. I particularly like to experiment with my makeup before I take a shower while carefully hiding from M. Lets say I made a ridiculous sight while practicing the iconic cat eye.
Calculate how much time you’d want to spend on it each day.
For those of us out there who love to sleep late, sacrificing each single day 30 minutes of your beauty sleep to basically cover signs of tiredness sounds silly. I understand that, perfectly well, I love sleeping and momentarily I’ve adjusted my makeup routine during working days, to not last longer than 10 minutes. However, I’ve met quite some women who enjoy makeup and in some way, and have no time making an effort. No excuses my darling, you are most young and beautiful right now. Find what works for you and make it a lifestyle.
It will change your life for the better, I promise.
