If you ask me what is the one dress cut that flatters all body types, I will instantly reply the SKATER dress. If not all, my wardrobe consists of feminine skater or pleated dresses, the one formula which works in all occasions. It highlights the waist and enhances the shape of an hourglass figure, I can basically throw it on at any time of the day and feel elegant and chic, with a touch of playfulness. My favorite cut for my petite body is when the waistline locates few centimeters below the breast line, in a way gives the illusion of longer legs and of a shorter torso. Skater dresses are timeless and of utter elegance, and let’s not forget the practicality part, as the flared part of the skirts offers freedom of movement, hence the touch of playfulness. I love the fluidity of the material flirting with a woman’s legs and she rushes to catch the green traffic lights or how it twirls when she suddenly turns around. If there’s one dress you need in your wardrobe then is this one.
Perfect for a dinner date on a hot summer day as you can avoid skin contact and indulge in food as much as you want, adding to the endless advantages of a skater dress. This brings me to the little story behind today’s photoshoot. It doesn’t happen often but there was one single time friends I got ready half an hour before the dinner date with friends. We bicycled to the city center and visited the botanical gardens while waiting for our table to get ready. I shall make it a habit because as it is so effortless and multifunctional taking the pictures for the blog in between living.
