M and I met each-other while studying abroad, in our current home Germany, we got engaged while on a summer trip to Iceland, our civil ceremony took place in Copenhagen. The theme of our wedding was travelling and naturally we’ve decided if possible to spend all our anniversaries traveling. A year passed by, a year married to M. and we still have to pinch ourselfs. Counting backwards to our anniversary we reminiscenced our feelings, emotions prior and after the wedding. A year flew by and we couldn’t be happier the wedding chapter is over and new life experiences are attainable in horizon.
Amsterdam had been on our lists for such a long time! I have seen countless pictures on Instagram and blogs but it was finally this entry (here) from my friend Katharina that pushed us to finally book an AirBnB place and drive Friday afternoon post-work. There aren’t many words to express how much we loved Amsterdam, in fact often we talk with M. whether we would date move out to another county. In few countries you feel right at home and starting FRESH in Amsterdam wouldn’t be a hardship. Beautiful architecture, relatively calm lifestyle, cosmopolitan and kind people. Would you believe me if I said we checked available job positions already?!

We felt blessed too Rembrandt’s most famous painting, The Night Watch at Rijksmuseum. I was happy to realize we hadn’t been the only ones to feel that way.
Although Amsterdam is a very popular destination, it didn’t feel over-crowded. A feeling perceived by observing how extremely relaxed the locals are.
A lovely girl took this picture of us, Sony didn’t manage to focus properly but it’s the best we could get.
Last picture and my favorite, the pink clouds over Amsterdam at night fall.
