Castles, old glamour and everything in between always make my heart beat faster. Few weekends ago we finally visited Philippsruhe Castle, in Hanau although it had been on top of my list ever since we moved to Frankfurt. After reaching Hanau, a 20 minutes drive from our home the first look of the Barock castle is nothing as the pictures you see online. Although I firmly believe it must look even more breathtaking in spring and summer. On a gloomy Saturday morning, the gardens were nearly as empty as the Castle Museum and cafe. After a short walk surrounding the property, we decided to escape the freezing temperatures with a hot cup of cappuccino for me and tea for Max. The cafe had been simply stunning and I couldn’t stop but think if I had been born in another century perhaps I wouldn’t have been permitted to see it with my own eyes. The museum is small but impressive and we definitely need to revisit and take pictures of the castle interiors and attend one of their summer soirees.
I had been flirting with the idea of wearing this coat as a dress for a while now. And although I have a skirt and jumper underneath, the coat looks so much better buttoned up. I choose to spicy my collection of black tights with this fun Falke polka dot pair and my Massimo Dutti burgundy pumps as my happy color.
