Back in the student days, I would always create the occasions to wear my new clothes. Be it a new dress or a fancy top, I would manipulate the circumstances to wear the new items, bought with lots of sacrifices. Fast forward to today, things have not changed much! I shop with purpose and if an item is being added to my wardrobe then it surely will be worn. Talking to my female friends and colleagues regarding eveningwear, I got the feeling that many women shy away from adding new fancy garments to their wardrobe. The few fancy dress, usually bought for a wedding occasion, has been moved to the back of the wardrobe as no other ”special” occasion showed itself up. As a result, eveningwear is considered an investment, not many women are willing to make nowadays. I find that truly a shame as the process of dressing up for an evening night out, is half the fun!
All the better to talk about eveningwear today as the holiday festive season is approaching. My calendar has been filled up with work and family holiday parties. Maggy London has just launched a holiday formal collection of dresses and jumpsuits, I promise there is something for everyone in the new styles that don’t break the bank. To read why I picked the Tia Petite dress (here), what I like most about it and of course, where did I wear it for the first time (hint not a wedding) head over to Maggy London (here). The Chloe wrap dress (here) and the Illusion dress (here) are perfect for the office holiday party. I love how colorful and fun, the April full skirt is (here) and of course can’t help but mention the Carrie midi dress (here) for it’s vintage, flattering cut.
