It’s been a week since the day we visited Stasbourg and only now I got the chance to put all the photos and memories together in a blog post. Visiting Stasbourg, a city beween Germany and France had been something that we wanted to ever since we moved to Frankfurt. You see it’s only a two hours drive from us.

The opportunity came when my mom visited us now for three weeks. She only comes to Germany in the winter time as she runs a small farm in Albania and the other seasons of the year are extremely busy for her. However winters are cold and doesn’t inspire much for travelling, so we stayed mostly locally, aside this day trip to France.

We didn’t know much about this part of France, aside from the fact that the architecture blends with that of France and Germany. France and Germany are separated by the Rhine river creating breathtaking views and long vineyards that I can imagine must look amazing in summer time. The city used to belong to Germany couple of times but since the end 1944 is a French town again.

We arrived in the city on a wonderfully warm spring day, the first one of 2019. The sun had already made its appearance early in the morning, we felt warm and happy. After parking our car inside the city, we walked to the city center with little stops at the flea market taking place right in the city center.

The walks around the river were my favourite! There’s nothing like a huge body of water to make a city charming. It seems like I am not the only one to feel this one, judging by the amount of chilling on the river banks.

After working up an appetite we decided to have something sweet and a glass of Riesling wine under the sun. We were lucky to find a place to sit! My brother and his girlfriend visited the city at Christmas time and it was impossible to find a cafe or a restaurant. Strasbourg seems to be a loved destination that time of the year.
It’s this time of the year that my heart desired light outfits, especially bright and colorful dresses.
We left the city while the sun was still shining with lots of warm feelings inside and a promise to be back.
