Brick walls

Ever since I was a little girl everyone made sure to inform me of things not allowed. Playing with other kids was impossible (I plainly suck at team games), riding a bike too. Wishing to join my friends at the beach was unthinkable and I can confidently admit, spoiling was definitely not excessive during my upbringing.

Fear of the unknown, of failure, make people build brick walls and I personally can’t say it often enough how much I despise these three words ‘it’s not possible’. Last time someone told me something similar was after my gaining my degree in Greece and applying for a PhD in Germany. I was told with cold and perfunctory works you will never manage to leave Greece. Now after many years living in Germany I want to send my Thank Yous to this person for motivating me in the best way possible.

I’ve said it before advice-giving is not really my forte my darlings but I have to end this post with a powerful one. Next time someone tells you you cannot do something, say WATCH ME. Say it loud and clear and dismember that wall because it is not there to forbid  but simply for you to display to the world and yourself how much you want something.
