I hope my darlings you’ve been having a great week. Time has been slipping away from us and each end of the week sets me in retrospection combined with bitter-sweet melancholy. By any means, I wouldn’t want to complain, especially when the echo of the recent happenings in Nice and Turkey is so fresh in our ears. Time is precious, time is deceitful, unyielding, full of secrets and treasures. I wish us all lot’s of time!

I have been back home for four days and I haven’t stopped. My garden needs attention. Rhubarb, raspberries, cherries to pick. Grass to be cut, weeds to be pulled etc. But with the World in chaos around our ears, I must not complain, but be thankful. Oh, I have not forgotten your suggestion of emailing. But time, my dear. In the words of W B Yeats, ‘The innocent and the beautiful have no enemy but time. ‘
