My clothes and I have an intimate relationship. I remember how much each piece costed me, how and when was acquired, even my emotional state at the time. I have three old pieces in my wardrobe, ancient pyjamas gifted by an aunt 10 years ago, wearing them right this moment. An oversize pullover, which makes me look like a bear and it won’t fit in any of my coats.
A pair of biker gloves, I acquired one cold winter as a student in Ioannina- Greece. I recall the moment I walked into the store one cold afternoon to try the green pullover on the mannequin, noticed them and bought them for 59,99€. They were the coolest thing I had ever owned, the brand is Killah and I believe it doesn’t exist anymore. I was wearing them on the first date with M. and I am so grateful they’ve survived this far, considering how good I am at loosing gloves.
What are the oldest pieces in your wardrobe? What memories do you associate them with? I’d love to read on the comments below.

2nd Day Livia pearl coat (here), similar by Malene Birder (here), Oxitaly flats (here), Aigner Munich bag (here), Killah gloves OLD similar (here), Maje jumpsuit (here), Zara head jewelry (here).
Have a great day! We’ll be heading to the Dolomite mountains in Italy and closer to nature this weekend.

Fantastic look love! This coat is pure perfection, love the pearl colour and the soft slouchy look of it! I remember too the Killah brand, it was every wear in Greece around 10 years ago! I remember too buying a pair of flat boots from Killah when I was at the University. I was saving money for over a month to get them but unfortunately they do not exist anymore as I wore them till they fell apart! Nice memories 🙂
Love your new layout by the way! And wonderful posts, both in photography and article!
Much love,

When I was in Greece I used to be so crazy about Killah and Miss Sixty. I too was saving for months to buy a skirt from them. Thanks so much for your compliments Stella. It means so much to me.

I hold on to stuff and clothes, like for.ever.
One of the oldest items in my closet is a leather belt with a coin buckle (here: http://myeverydaywear.blogspot.com/2016/03/one-mark.html ) its from the time when the currency in Germany was still the Deutsche Mark ! I must have been in the 7th grade or so when my mother bought it for her and then it somehow ended up in my closet.

I have tons of things I’ve never worn or stuff I’ve kept for 6 years and only wore once. I still have my favortie pair of shoes, and I can’t wear them anymore because they are coming apart but I refuse to get rid of them. haha

Only three old pieces T. I think I have only three new pieces in my wardrobe. As for the old stuff. Well, a long coat that I’ve mentioned before. Had for 25 years and in a sale cost £99. And like all old things refuses to wear out. A Trench like the one you are wearing(20 years). Also an old baggy wooly jumper when I’m gardening. And shoes. Embarrassed to tell you how many.

I love old clothing because it has so much history. That’s why I buy so many second hand garments I think. Crazy that you remember too how much your coat costed. Are we on the same boat Jo?

I usually don’t hold on to clothes for very long; I like to keep it pretty minimal. But I think the oldest piece right now is a white, comfy tee. It just never gets old and no matter how much I wash it or wear it, it’s still going strong.. It reminds me of a crazy road trip I took 3 years ago. It was one of the few pieces I brought with me. It feels like a relic lol 🙂

I don´t even know what the oldest thing in my wardrobe is….It might be my Kenyan Leso; a piece of large cloth that we use for anything and everything :-)! Nice pics…
