Last stop

The title of today’s post is a bit misleading. We had an unofficial meeting on Sunday and unintentionally we missed our stop. We ended up in Buttenheim, meaning in the middle of nowhere. I would like to mention that Sunday is a family day in Germany and usually there is not a single soul in the streets.

The result, remarkably empty train platforms. Flamboyantly, I could comfortably plant my bottom on the platform’s edge white lining. Ahh, the joy of doing something illegal in this country without being caught!

We had an hour to kill until the next train and we decided to do a short hike, note me in flip-flops. The sun felt blazingly hot and the humidity in the air could be cut with a knife.

We came across this beautiful castle, starting to being built in the 13 century and is admittedly more breathtaking in the person. It’s located in Wiesenthau and offers a splendid view of the village surrounded by endless valleys. Can’t imagine the endless stories this place has to narrate.

After coming home the skies opened and it had been pouring torrential rain the whole Sunday night and Monday as well. I find storms and raining overly soothing, no complaints here.

Missing the train and impulsiveness is good for you, trust me.

Cheers,
