Winter struggles

As the day sunlight becomes shorter and melatonin production diminishes in my body I’m feeling more and more tired and sleepy this past days for no reason at all. Last night I slept at the movie theater and that simply never happens to me! Does anyone want to jump in the boat of winter fatigue with me? On average a human being goes through 85 winters and it isn’t a pleasant experience the same repeated emotional tiredness, in my opinion.

I’ll be trying a few new tricks this week to boost my energy levels:

Sleep earlier and wake up at least two hours prior to working time. It makes me so happy to have some time for myself in the morning, drinking my tea and listening to winter music. I take advantage of this time to catch up with your blogs and prepare myself emotionally for the new day.

Take a short walk after lunch and enjoy a few minutes of light. I’ve telling my friends from Greece, winter in Germany is brutal. I believe everyone imagines cold temperatures and lots of snow, in reality what we get in addition to low temperatures, is very little of sunlight.

Exercise regularly, I have been very bad with my workouts the past two months (read paragraph 1) and I plan to remedy that starting from today.

Forge a new creative outlet. I’ve been doing a personal photography diary on my phone for some time and I plan to extend it. It probably sound mundane, dedicating time to a small project such as the above mentioned, it gives me purpose and contentment.

How do you guys fight winter tiredness?

Do you guys prefer darker or brighter winter outfits? Lately I’ve been thinking to forsake the greys and blacks and add a few more colorful sweaters in my wardrobe.
